quit yer bitchin'

Please, please, please
no more maladies
I'm so tired of cryin'
you'd think I was a siren.
(-Fiona Apple)

That's the song stuck in my head today because honest-to-god I am so sick of thinking and talking about my health and scrutinizing and analyzing every hiccup and twinge.
All of my major bodily organs are in excellent working order and so today I declare myself over it.
all done.
I shall resume my "fake it 'til you make it" strategy that has served me so well in the rest of my life.

Please, please, please
no more remedies
my method is uncertain
it's a mess, but it's workin'

I got up this morning and saw the large blank pad of paper that hangs on my make-shift easel.  With all thoughts of getting to work on time out of my head, I attacked the page for a good half hour, joyfully smearing paint and gluing on some random things.

don't know where it's going, but it sure was fun!

I spent the next half hour getting this giant blob of gesso out of my hair.

thank you all for your lovely comments and support when I was feeling sub-par.

  2. I walked around running errands with gesso in my hair last week. I didn't notice till my beloved told me he could see white hairs and I went to look.

Glad you are "over it", but don't overdo things. Bodies are funny things. Glad it wasn't your thyroid. That is a pain in the arse. (Aurocorrect wants to turn arse to star!)

Great start, looks fun. And I love Fiona Apple.

  3. Good for you - I'm glad you're feeling more positive - that's half the battle. And Fiona is a great warrior to have on your side. The joy of just getting your hands (and hair apparently) messy being creative is so powerful - you're a smart woman!

  4. You rock! It's hard to keep positive when you don't feel well and I'm sending you all sorts of mind-over-matter energy! I'm glad to see you smearing paint around - it can be healing. Take care of yourself. :)

  5. I'm going to adopt 'Fake it till you make it' to add to my armoury of 'keep me going' thoughts. Thanks for that one. You are so positive, and I don't know how you manage to squeeze in going to work as well as all the other things you do. Enjoyed this blog as usual, and only wish I could sensibly join in the hospital card thingy. Keep thinking there must be a way I can do this at home here in UK., will think on this when next cat-scan hurdle is over. Keep smiling.
