ICAD days 2-7

June 2nd:

June 3rd:
testing out a tissue paper technique that I want to use on a book cover.
How come I never notice how poorly I cut out text until I post it online?
I swear it doesn't look that crooked when I hold it in my hand.

June 4th:

June 5th:
Got to work and realized I wouldn't be home until 11PM or so and doubted I'd feel up for an index card that late in the day, so I made this one at my desk using gum wrappers, security envelope, tissue box, and an ad from the recycling bin:

June 6th:

June 7th:

I bought a little foot rest for myself today, and someone immediately appropriated it.
Guess I'll stand.

  2. "All this is mine." (says Jack :D) "Why should I go back outside, when I've got this bed-thingy you got just for me?" BliddaBlidda (where on earth do you get this text?!)…. Hahahahahahahaha

  3. Hahaha at your kitty.. He obviously knows a good thing when he sees it! I love all your icads! I did one tonight as an experiment where I tore up a brown bag and glued the bits down on the index card. Then I rubbed black, brown, gold, and bronze paint all over it.. Repeated some black and finally added some touches of a gold sharpie paint pen to some of the edges of the torn pieces.. I was after a leather look such as your "they couldn't find their way" above. I don't know if I achieved "leather" but its cool nonetheless.. I will post all my efforts on my blog soon. I've been having issues uploading my pics to my computer but I think I finally got it cleared up. :)

  6. That cat just KNOWS he's not getting moved. Your collages are great...and 'blinderbluss etc.,'...is a hoot.

  7. Why would you need a foot rest, the cat obviously needs it more. It would be a dog bed in a heartbeat and then chewed too.....I am thinking of kevlar furniture. I laughed at your cutting out text crooked because I do it all the time...Thought of you while taking Seth's class - did a card with a stamp head and the text Spit...Lesson 58 and had the stamp spitting! See your influence is everywhere. xox

  9. I had a hectic day on the 5th, too, and ended up doing my ICAD at my desk in between meetings (and, okay, during a conference call) with my traveling art kit. I can see that I should be carrying a glue stick with me as well!

  10. Oh my gosh, Karen, your index cards are so fun! Of course, June 6 is a riot, and my favorite! But I love the look of so many of the others, too. Maybe it would be fun to make one whole season of ICAD about using materials from the recycle bin....hmmmm...I didn't get started participating yet this year (sigh), but now I might just have to start!!
