One of the exercises for my extreme composition class was to create a series in an exaggerated vertical format using one of our previous pieces as a starting point. These are two pieces from lesson two:
I used the elements of these pieces as a vocabulary and made ten variations. Which one's your favorite?

I love them all actually but I think if I had to choose only one, #8 is my favorite. But they are all in my fav colors and shapes so it is a hard choice. All are gorgeous!

They are all so good, but #1 is simple and bold with it's graphic elements and really speaks to me. xox

ReplyDeleteYou mean I have to choose between them!! I like each one but if you hold my feet to the fire I guess I'd say #6. I love the long, skinny format...it adds to the whole look. Fantastic exercise!

ReplyDeleteWow lady! Amazing work and such a great use of an exaggerated format. I keep thinking I should try working something in a series and this is a good reminder about why....look at all the exploring you did! I'm drawn to the ones with the dark for contrast and I think #5 is a stunner - well balanced darks, and I love how the teal fades into the lower small circle...beautiful details - I bet they're even stronger in person. Beautiful color palette (but no surprise there!:)
