If you love poppies, or watercolors, or sweet, generous, lovely artists, you must go check out the month-long celebration over at Studio Margot.
Video tutorials, poppy history, materials discussion - all given freely by the lovely and talented Margot. I started last weekend and can't stop.
I am having so much fun painting poppies.
Here's some now:
Nor will I show you the bizarre purple painting gone wrong
I am only going to show you my total devotion to the field of poppies blooming on my studio door.
AND, before I head off to the Cape with four of my oldest, dearest girlfriends for the weekend, I will graciously allow Amy to continue interviewing me
6. if you could choose a new name, what would you name yourself?
Up until 5 minutes ago, I was going to tell you that I would call myself
Trixie
but I have changed my mind and today I will call myself
instead.
Happy Paint Party Friday to you all!
thanks, namaste, Carol (A Creative Harbor) Happy PPF poppy paintings! Love them~
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff, Poppy.;)
ReplyDeleteLove those lovely poppies, Poppy!
ReplyDeleteYour poppy paintings look great and so do your teeth-gnashing canvases.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing quite a few poppies and now I know why. I'm going to check out that free class.
Love your poppies. Sound like a great class.
ReplyDeleteLove your poppies, and I also love the new orange paintings. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my post, can't tell you how many times I have been busted standing by the sink shoveling cold pasta in my face, or eating shredded cheese straight from the bag. The husband couldn't look more shocked and horrified if he'd caught me mainlining heroin. And quite frankly, that's the main reason to do it.
Well, hello Poppy! :) You are the second one mentioning the poppies today so I'll deffinetly have to check it out. They look awesome!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Poppy/Trixsie! xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteWell, "Trixie" (and there was a girl in my elementary school who went by the nickname Trixie, I just love the poppies. These are some really exciting paintings. However, don't give up on the two you are dissing. I don't know what they are on (paper, canvas, etc?) but either one would make an outstanding background for mixed media art. If they are canvas, you could print them off to use. I especially like the purple one.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely poppies! Lots of poppies about today, we must all be missing Summer already. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the poppies... uh, popping up everywhere :) Yours are so pretty ~ love the effect of all of them hanging on your door! They're one of my favorite flowers ~ I don't have any in my actual garden as of yet, but maybe I could create some of my own on paper 'til then? Thanks for sharing! Happy PPF :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, awesome work on all of the paintings you showed and didn't show! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe poppies look striking with their intense red colors, and I love the grungy look of the canvases and the purple painting!

I'm so glad you stuck to the poppies and didn't show us those wrong 'uns. Funny purple poppies though and was that an abstract field of them above??!!
ReplyDelete;)
Wow, you show the 'bad' stuff. Only that's not Bad to me. . . I totally get it. I hate what I do, then put it away for a few weeks, come back to it, and Whoa, not bad at all. . . . My works usually need to 'chill' and it will be OK. Sometimes, I find that I wonder who did it, it's that much better than I thought. Love the poppies. Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteWonderful poppies, Poppy! (I see there is now an actress on a TV show with that name). Your poppies turned out beautifully. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the others.
ReplyDeleteI'm LOVING your very creative interview!
And thanks for the note on my absentee blog today. Much appreciated.
Hope you have a great weekend with the girls Poppy... though I have to say I loved the name Trixie as a girl. Remember the Trixie Belden novels??? Thought it would be cool to be called Trixie and have adventures!
