A new batch of postcards:
They started as 8"x12" collages with a central image and I added to them after they'd been cut into four pieces.
(forgot to take a picture of these collages before I started embellishing)
The original inspiration for this came from a swap hosted by the fabulous Steph Dodson.
I received one of the pieces of this awesome collage in the mail yesterday.
(thanks for the ongoing inspiration and challenges, Steph!)
Teeth! Molars! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteVery fun -- and we know you can never have too many postcards made and ready to mail out.
These came out great. The jaw thing is a little creeeeeepy but I bet you love it. Steph does amazing mail art so I am not surprised, have to hop over and check her blog out now. xox
ReplyDeleteWow, these are AMAZING Karen! The depth you are getting with your layers is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out :D I'm so happy people really enjoyed the swap!
Wow, better and better! For some twisted reason my favorite is the teeth one - something about anatomical images I'm just a sucker for! Plus I LOVE the colors...
ReplyDeleteThese are great. Maybe you could try something similar on your swap.
ReplyDeleteThese are really wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow. Karen I love these postcards. The next time you have a postcard swap I am going to have to have a go. Yours look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. This approach works so well. Love all the colours. I suppose you could always send one of the teeth ones to your dentist.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering what to do with some of my collage pieces - great idea. Yours are very striking - love the images.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these...especially the ones with the skulls.
ReplyDeleteGreat postcard-making strategy!!
ReplyDeletehow great are those postcards and the collages, you are the master
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to do this. Much more attainable than a big 24" x 36" poster page for future postcards. Awesome work - everyone!
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards--love this technique. They're wonderfully surreal.
ReplyDeleteThese cards are so neat! Love the idea! I never would have thought of that. Each postcard is complete in itself! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love this. What a great idea. They have their own unique flares. Well, not flares, because that would imply an emergency of the negative kind. I mean, flairs, as in, the kind of flair you'd get from a felt tip pen that comes in many colors.
ReplyDeleteI probably need to practice commenting.
Karen, wow! These are so awesome. You're so productive!
ReplyDeleteDag gone girl! You've been busy! These look great and I love that you had the gonads to cut up your perfectly good art and do more to it! You are one brave woman Karen, one brave woman.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, seriously fantastic postcards! You are so talented.
