text box

I'm a habitual clipper of text.
I'm forever cutting out delightful words and phrases from the many many books I've amassed for collage purposes.

I keep them all in this box, and I've been dipping into it frequently throughout the ICAD challenge.

Tonight, after narrowly escaping a dreaded social situation and instead spending a wonderful spontaneous evening with my family, I came home to make my index card.
I painted a background and pondered.
What to add?

Out comes the text box.
Here's a possible phrase.
Here's another.
Or maybe this one?
hmmm....

what about these three all together?

perfect.

    1. I used to have them all jumbled and finally segregated them for that very reason.

  3. Perfect indeed. I'm delighted that I'm not the only one who clips text.

  4. I keep mine in a gallon ziplock (actually I think I have about 3 mostly full ones now) and a basket that I keep on my desk top for instant text finds.....it's so nice to know I'm not the only one!

  5. I keep my clipped text in a cigar box too. But I am still thinking of those stamps you carved.

  9. Way to listen to what YOU needed! Love your box of phrases. I have one too but they're mostly inspirational stuff (a lot from running magazines and O). Need to get some wit and whimsy in there too! xx

  10. I remember when I was very little, every week I would grab the newspapers along with any magazines or such and sit down and diligently cut out words and phrases, along with letters that I adored!! Who would of ever thought 40 years later it would be a thing to do haha. Personally, I think artist are born, we are not trained or created...we simply are! I am always looking for creative ways to store my supplies.... I am lovin what you did! Guess I need to make something like that..yes I still love words and phrases..and don't get me started on fonts!!!
